About Us

From stressed-out suburbanites to freedom-loving family!

Hey there, we’re Nathan and Kirsty; dynamic husband-and-wife team, proud parents, world travellers and occasional romantic fools. But our life wasn’t always so awesome…

Not that long ago we both worked long hours while trying to raise our three kids. Our lives were filled with early starts, late finishes and weekends of lawn-mowing, house-cleaning and little opportunity for quality family time.

We were living the middle-class suburban dream, but we just weren’t happy. The stress and pressure of it all resulted in Kirsty having a serious medical turn. We knew something had to change, so we started looking for new, better ways of doing things.

We prioritised our lives, worked out what was important to us (Our kids! Travel! Wellbeing! Laughter!) and made a plan to put these things at the forefront of everything we do.

LIVING SMARTER BEING HAPPIER

We have taken to heart the motto “Living smarter, being happier.”

It’s meant some hard decisions and taking some risks, but we’re now on the way to living a life that is more fulfilling and rewarding than it has ever been before. And you can live smarter and be happier, too.

We aren’t going to tell you to sell your house, move to a tropical island, or live your life out of a suitcase (though sometimes we want to!), but we are here to show you how to get your life under control so you can travel better, longer and more stress free.

TRAVEL FOR EVERYONE

Intergenerational, accessible and fun; travel should be for everyone (and it is – just ask our family!)

Whether it’s travelling with the in-laws or incorporating our kids’ varying disabilities, we’re up for the challenge of finding destinations and activities that suit everyone. We’re big believers in creating unique experiences that tap into everyone’s interests and abilities. That’s a good thing, because as proud Gen Xers, we’re used to being stuck in the middle…

With two coeliacs in the mix, three family members on the autism spectrum, a son with a significant vision impairment, ageing parents and a rich vein of anxiety, travel is not always easy for our family. But we’ve found ways to cater to everyone’s needs so the whole family gets something different from each place we visit.
